|Description||Subway Station Entrance Lamp ("Electrolier for Railing Post at Stairways") designed and used by the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Company (BRT) subsidiary New York Municipal Railway Corporation on its Broadway Fourth Avenue line. Octagonal cast-iron lamp head, painted dark green, with translucent panels (4 @ 5.5-in. wide and 4 @ 4-in. wide), originally wire-glass (replaced by white milk glass, date unknown). On each of the 4 large sides is printed (vertically, silkscreen or stencil) "SUBWAY" in black uppercase letters. Light sockets manufactured by Benjamin Electric.|
