|Title||[Park Avenue: IRT East Side Line]|
Park Avenue at 38th Street, New York, NY along the IRT East Side Line. General view from the stoop of #66 Park Ave.
On March 19, 1902, a severe rock slide occurred in the east tunnel beneath Park Avenue, disturbing the surface of the street and causing parts of several house walls to collapse. This image, taken a few days later, documents the timbering that was needed to secure the weakened facades.
