Subway car card that is part of the series "New York by Rehberger." Gustav Rehberger was an artist who created a series of car cards for the New York Subways Advertising Company in 1948 about various New York landmarks.
The car card is double sided. One side says "On East Drive Is A Statue Of A Dog! It Honors BALTO, Leader of Dog Team Rushing Diptheria Antitoxin to Nome, Alaska, in 1925. Was Present With His Master At Unveiling" with a pen and ink illustration of the Statue. The verso says "1948 is the 50th Anniversary of Greater New York City Five Boroughs Were Merged As One City On January 1, 1898 - Most Populous Borough Is Brooklyn" with a pen and ink illustration of a cityscape.
