Subway car card that is part of the series "New York by Rehberger." Gustav Rehberger was an artist who created a series of car cards for the New York Subways Advertising Company in 1948 about various New York landmarks.
The car card is double sided. One side says "World's Fastest Elevators are in Rockefeller Center, Some Shot Up to Seventy Stories in 38 Seconds!" with a pen and ink illustration of Rockefeller Center. The verso says "Chinatown's Canton Theatre Observes Old Chinese Custom of Presenting Coins to Players Every Time They Are Applauded" with a pen and ink illustration of the entrance to the Canton Theatre.
