Scope & Content Subway car card that is part of the series "New York by Rehberger." Gustav Rehberger was an artist who created a series of car cards for the New York Subways Advertising Company in 1948 about various New York landmarks.

The car card is double sided. One side says "Children's Zoo- Bronx Zoological Park Has Tame Animals To Be Petted In Story Book Settings- No Adult Admitted Without A Child" with a pen and ink illustration of a lamb. The verso says "New York Public Library Fifth Avenue at 42nd Street Manhattan Offers Free Lectures, Recorded Concerts, Exhibitions and 3 Million Books Weekdays 9am - 10pm Sundays 1pm-10pm" with a pen and ink illustration of one of the marble lions that rests outside the entrance to the New York Public Library.
